Critics who treat ‘adult’ as a term of approval, instead of as a merely descriptive term, cannot be adult themselves. To be concerned about being grown up, to admire the grown up because it is grown up, to blush at the suspicion of being childish; these things are the marks of childhood and adolescence. And in childhood and adolescence they are, in moderation, healthy symptoms. Young things ought to want to grow. But to carry on into middle life or even into early manhood this concern about being adult is a mark of really arrested development. When I was ten, I read fairy tales in secret and would have been ashamed if I had been found doing so. Now that I am fifty I read them openly. When I became a man I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up.

Yes. Yes to that quote. I think the only thing I have to add is: Le Petit Prince.

When in doubt, let C. S. Lewis say it for you.

Flawless response.

Fuck yes C. S. Lewis.
And besides. Everyone has their own way of chilling. Many shows/books/etc that are considered “adult” entertainment have little or less plot value than Homestuck and the rest. WHICH IS FINE! Something doesn’t have to be amazing rocket science for it to be a good distraction from the stress and pressures of life. And often, people who fall into that “above 17, 18” range have a whole slew of that.
Plus I like sewing the costumes :P So sue me.

It’s shocking how often that the lessons taught by “kid’s shows” are forgotten by adults. The reason that the lessons are repeated so often is because they are just that important to learn. Sadly, the author of this post seems to have failed to learn the “Don’t judge a book by its cover” lesson, as well as “It’s okay to not like things, but don’t be a dick about it.” Hopefully, they’ll be able to figure things out.
